The Illinois College women's tennis team secured a 6-1 victory over Millikin University in a non-conference match held Wednesday at the Fairview Tennis Complex in Decatur, Illinois. This win brings Illinois College's season record to 2-1.
In doubles play, Illinois College claimed the opening point with wins from Sophie Muir and Lily Ingram at No. 1 doubles, and Sabrina Ingram and Morgan Keefe at No. 2. The No. 3 doubles match was forfeited by Millikin, giving Alyssa Wise and Clara Bach the win.
During singles competition, Illinois College won three of the four matches played. Alyssa Wise (No. 1), Sophie Muir (No. 2), and Morgan Keefe (No. 3) each earned straight-set victories for their team. Millikin forfeited the No. 5 singles spot to Lily Ingram and the No. 6 spot to Clara Bach.
The Lady Blues are scheduled to make their home debut on Saturday, hosting Greenville at 10:00 a.m. and Westminster at 3:00 p.m. Both matches will take place at the Bellatti Tennis Complex in Jacksonville.
