Illinois College women's tennis splits home doubleheader against Greenville and Westminster

The Illinois College women's tennis team competed in two matches on Saturday at the Bellatti Tennis Complex, splitting results with a loss to Greenville and a win over Westminster.

In the first match, Illinois College (IC) was narrowly defeated by Greenville, 4-3. The Lady Blues secured the doubles point with wins from Lily Ingram and Sophie Muir at No. 2 doubles, and Sabrina Ingram and Morgan Keefe at No. 3 doubles. However, Greenville won four of six singles matches to take the overall victory. Singles wins for IC came from Lily Ingram at No. 4 and Sabrina Ingram at No. 6.

Later in the day, IC responded with a dominant performance against Westminster, winning 7-0 while dropping only two games across all matches. The Lady Blues swept both contested doubles matches—Alyssa Wise and Clara Bach won at No. 1, while Sabrina Ingram and Sophie Muir took No. 2 by identical scores of 6-0; Madison Marshall and Morgan Keefe received a forfeit win at No. 3 doubles.

In singles play against Westminster, Alyssa Wise won her match at No. 1 by scores of 6-2, 6-0. Clara Bach (No. 2), Lily Ingram (No. 3), Morgan Keefe (No. 4), and Sophi Barrow (No. 5) each posted straight-set victories without losing a game; Sabrina Ingram claimed her match by forfeit at No. 6.

Following these results, the Lady Blues' season record stands at three wins and two losses.

Illinois College is scheduled to travel to Bloomington on Monday to face Illinois Wesleyan University, with play set to begin at 4:00 p.m.
