The Illinois College women's soccer team secured a 4-1 victory over Manchester University on Saturday at Good Field in North Manchester, Indiana. With this win, Illinois College moves to a record of 3-2-1 for the season, while Manchester remains winless at 0-5-0.
Illinois College opened the scoring early when Sofia Russo found the net just over five minutes into the match. Manchester responded with a goal at the 31:39 mark, but Illinois College regained the lead less than eight minutes later when Abby Keeton scored at 39:19.
In the second half, Katy Adler extended Illinois College's advantage by converting a pass from Erin O'Connell. The team's final goal came from Keeton, who recorded her second score of the day with an assist from Olivia Hulsey.
Goalkeeper Haley Schuerman played the full match and made one save. Illinois College outshot Manchester by a margin of 17 to 4, with Adler leading all players with five shots.
The Lady Blues will wrap up their eastern weekend trip on Sunday with a game against Kalamazoo College scheduled for 10:00 a.m. CST.
