Illinois College’s Blueboys Valorant team was defeated by Cornell College in their latest Midwest Valorant Esports Conference (MVEC) match on Tuesday night. The Blueboys lost the best-of-three series 0–2.
Cornell, ranked second in the MVEC preseason poll, won the first map, Ascent, with a score of 13–4. On Lotus, Illinois College showed resistance but ultimately lost 13–6.
Despite the loss, several players from Illinois College had notable performances. Carter Naeve achieved a key clutch in a 3v1 situation that generated momentum for his team. Fray Moulton also delivered an ace by eliminating all five opponents in a single round.
Individual player statistics were as follows: Carter Naeve recorded 19 kills and nine assists; Duc Kien Nguyen posted 12 kills and 13 assists; Jonest Eisfelder had 15 kills and 11 assists; Fray Moulton contributed 33 kills and an assist total of eleven; Dwight Duijneveld led with 38 kills.

The Blueboys are scheduled to play Buena Vista University next week. They recently beat Buena Vista University with a score of 13–5 in an unofficial tournament.
