The Illinois College women's soccer team secured a 3-0 victory over Beloit College in a Midwest Conference match held Wednesday at England Stadium in Jacksonville, Illinois. This win brings the Lady Blues to an overall record of 7-6-2 and a conference record of 3-1-0, while Beloit falls to 2-8-2 overall and 1-2-1 in conference play.
Katy Adler opened the scoring early, marking her seventh goal of the season with an assist from Erin O'Connell following a corner kick. Brianna Noud added to the lead by scoring her first collegiate goal off a rebound at the 35:10 mark, giving Illinois College a 2-0 advantage at halftime.
Abby Love closed out the scoring for Illinois College late in the second half, netting a goal with help from Sofia Russo at the 81:33 mark. The Lady Blues took 24 shots during the match compared to Beloit's seven. Holly Morehart and Adler led the offense with four shots each, while Olivia Ralson and Abbi Renwick contributed three shots apiece.
Goalkeeper Jesse Trost recorded her first collegiate shutout by playing the entire match and making five saves.
According to team records, the Lady Blues’ current 3-1 start in Midwest Conference play matches their best league start since the 2016 season.
Illinois College will continue its homestand on Saturday when it hosts Cornell for another Midwest Conference matchup at England Stadium, with kickoff scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
