Earlier this year, State Representative Charlie Meier bought a hog at the Bond County Youth Auction. He arranged for the hog to be processed at Grantfork Meats, then donated half of the meat to the Bond County Food Pantry in Greenville and the other half to the Pocahontas Food Pantry at the Methodist church.
“It’s wonderful to be able to provide some product to these food pantries that do so much for our community,” said Meier.
Meier, a Republican, was elected in 2023 to represent Illinois' 109th House District, taking over from former state representative David Reis.
