The Illinois College volleyball team secured a straight-set victory over Ripon College on Thursday at Sherman Gymnasium, continuing their strong start in the Midwest Conference. The Lady Blues won with scores of 25–15, 27–25, and 25–18, bringing their overall record to 7–14 and improving to 2–0 in conference play.
Riley Drake led the team's offense with 16 kills and a .367 hitting percentage. Haylie Orton contributed seven kills and two service aces. Delani Klaas added nine kills and one ace, while Laura Kaiser made three blocks at the net.
Setter Summer Brandis directed the attack with 22 assists, two aces, and eight digs. Kahli O'Neal provided 11 assists, and Mady Salisbury led the defense with 14 digs and a service ace.
Illinois College posted a .241 hitting percentage as a team, along with nine service aces and six total blocks. The Lady Blues limited Ripon to a .069 attack percentage and only 26 kills during the match.
The team will return to action Saturday afternoon for Senior Day against Lake Forest College at 1:00 p.m.
