The Illinois College volleyball team concluded its East Coast trip on Saturday with two matches at Kean University in Union, New Jersey. The Lady Blues faced Kean University in their first match of the day, pushing the contest to five sets before falling 3–2 (25–18, 25–16, 22–25, 23–25, 15–7). Riley Drake and Delani Klaas led Illinois College with 14 kills each. Drake also contributed six digs and two aces, while Klaas posted a .308 hitting percentage and two blocks. Kahli O'Neal recorded 23 assists and Summer Brandis added 14 more. Mady Salisbury had a team-high 18 digs, and Caidyn Tate led the blocking effort with five total.
In the second match against Misericordia University, Illinois College lost in four sets (25–18, 28–30, 25–19, 25–15). The Lady Blues secured a close win in the second set but could not overcome Misericordia's offense for the remainder of the match. Delani Klaas again paced Illinois College with ten kills along with three service aces and six digs. Laura Kaiser provided five kills and four blocks to lead the team defensively at the net. Angelina Rogers contributed six kills as well. Brandis and O'Neal combined for a total of 27 assists during the match while Salisbury collected another team-high with 17 digs.
Illinois College will return home to begin Midwest Conference play next weekend by hosting Ripon on Friday at 7:00pm and Lake Forest on Saturday for senior day at 1:00pm.
