Illinois College women's cross country team achieved notable results at the Greenville Classic in Litchfield, Illinois, on Friday. Bailey Downing and Caroline Peters led the team, finishing eighth and twelfth overall with times of 20:18.27 and 20:35.91, respectively. These times now stand as the sixth and seventh fastest in the program's history for a 5,000-meter course.
Other contributors included Kairy Mercado-Ramos, who placed 21st with a time of 21:43.00. Ashley Watson finished 24th in 22:10.40, Claire Peters was 28th in 22:34.41, and Morgan Carrino completed the team’s efforts, finishing 41st in 23:26.28.
The Lady Blues finished fourth as a team at the event.
The team will next compete at the Midwest Conference Championships in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, scheduled for Saturday, November 1, with the race starting at 11:00 a.m.
