Illinois Officials Confirm Algal Bloom on Portions of the Illinois River

Following sampling on the Illinois River, Illinois officials have confirmed the presence of the algal toxin, microcystin, above the 8 parts per billion (ppb) health advisory established by U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

Pritzker Administration Awards $3.3 Million to First Responders Across Illinois

The Office of the Illinois State Fire Marshal (OSFM) today announced the recipients of the 2021 Small Equipment Grant Program. A total of $3.3 million was awarded to 149 fire departments/districts and EMS providers across the state. The OSFM received 448 applications, requesting around $10.5 million in funding for this grant period.
