The Sangamon County Finance Committee discussed the hiring of staff members in two areas during its meeting on Tuesday.
The committee voted to approve the hiring of a replacement clerk for recording, indexing and verifying. The previous employee in this position was taken off of the payroll system in November. The salary for this position was not available.
The second position was for a deputy coroner and death investigator, and has an assigned salary of $38,000 per year. The person that is currently in this position is expected to be taken off of the payroll on March 11. The new hire goes into effect on April 1.
The committee also reviewed minutes from its meeting on Feb. 9 and considered a building lease at 1800 E. Adams St. in Springfield.
The next meeting is scheduled for 5 p.m. March 8.
