The Citizens’ Efficiency Commission (CEC) of Sangamon County, Illinois discussed methods to improve the service of the Regional Leadership Council (RLC) during a recent meeting
Commissioners Robert Plunk and Jackie Newman presented that the RLC would benefit from a dedicated executive assistant that would be able to interact with the different municipalities within the county and to provide information on the best use of available tools and other resources.
Plunk also stated that this person would also be tasked with program organization, developing and circulating survey forms and management of the RLC website. This person would also be capable of informing the different municipalities of grant opportunities.
The RLC would benefit from consultation services in order to become efficient within its operations. It was also noted that funding this would be difficult under current circumstances. The RLC is considered to be an important accomplishment of the CEC.
Other commission members presented information in areas relating to regional police studies, sewer transfers, and developing links with legislative bodies, fire services and emergency services and townships.
