The Sangamon, Illinois County Jail Committee will be discussing capital asset vehicle disposal and other items during its meeting planned for Tuesday, March 1.
The disposal measure intends to ensure that the county jail has all appropriate and up to date equipment. The County Jail Committee is tasked with purchasing all fixtures, furniture and other equipment utilized by the jail and to ensure inspections and repairs are carried out.
There is also expected to be reports presented by county staff including Sangamon Sheriff Wes Barr, Coroner Cinda Edwards, Jail Superintendent Larry Beck and Chief Officer of the Sheriff’s department, Joe Roesch.
Requisitions for the Sheriff’s and Coroner’s offices will also be considered by and voted for approval by the County Jail Board. There is also time set aside for public commentary.
This board meets twice a month on the first and third Tuesdays. This meeting will also facilitate the review and vote for approval for minutes from its two previous meetings that took place on Feb. 2 and Feb. 16.
This meeting is set to begin at noon tomorrow in room 201 at the Sangamon County Board Office. Its next meeting will take place on March 15.
