The Sangamon County, Illinois Executive Committee will be meeting on Monday, March 7 to discuss items in preparation for the full County Board meeting set to take place on Tuesday, March 8.
This meeting will consist of reviewing and finalizing the agenda for the county board meeting. Committee chairmen will also be presenting reports from their respective committees regarding activities and other matters in each area.
This committee will also be reviewing appointments and nominations for different boards and commissions.
The agenda for the full meeting on Tuesday currently consists of 13 items and the appointment to the Insurance Board of Managers
The county board consists of 29 representatives from each district within the county and is tasked with oversight and authority over measures that are not under the responsibilities of elected county officials. The board is focused on financial management and regulatory items that include the health, building and zoning codes. Members are selected through the election process and currently the board is made up of 24 members from the Republican Party and five from the Democratic Party.
The executive committee meeting will be taking place on March 7 beginning at 12 p.m. The county board meeting is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. on March 8.
