The Sangamon, Illinois County Road and Bridge Committee will be discussing the approval of bids and other items during its meeting on Wednesday, March 30.
Bids for bituminous materials, township oil letting and other miscellaneous materials will be considered by committee.
During this meeting there will also be discussions regarding the hiring of staff on a seasonal basis. These include six summer maintenance worker positions, one seasonal construction position and three seasonal maintainer positions. Also set to be considered by the committee is a payment agreement relating to a New Berlin Township project.
The board will also review three federal aid agreements with the state’s Department of Transportation. These would facilitate road work on County Highway 23, a bridge replacement in Curran Township on Wesley Chapel Road and another bridge replacement on Old Salem Lane within Gardner Township.
Meeting minutes from the committee’s previous session that took place on Feb. 24 will also be reviewed and voted for approval during this meeting. This meeting will also feature a discussion on a winter season report.
This meeting is scheduled to begin at 6:30 a.m. at the County Highway Department.
The committee is scheduled meet again on April 27.
