During a recent meeting, the Pleasant Plains Community Unit School District (CUSD) No. 8 Board approved a $284,000 contract bid from
Designed Roofing Systems Inc. to repair Farmingdale Elementary School's roof.
Following the approval of these items the meeting entered a closed session in order to discuss matters relating to employment within the district.
The board also approved the 2016-2017 district school calendar.
Trustees also entered an executive session to discuss sensitive personnel issues that usually involve appointments, performance, compensation, discipline or dismissals.
The board also approved the hiring of Sarah Wood as a volunteer high-school girls soccer coach and Don Goff as assistant high school track coach, plus other coaches hired for the fall semester.
