The Sangamon County Board will consider service-contract bids and state aid agreements regarding road work at its next meeting at 7 p.m. today at the Sangamon County Complex, 200 South St. in Springfield.
The agenda indicates three resolutions to accept the low bids on service contracts will be considered by the board. One of these resolutions is for supplying the county with bituminous materials, while another is for supplying miscellaneous materials. The third resolution involves a contract for oil-letting services.
The board also will consider three resolutions to approve federal aid agreements with the Illinois Department of Transportation. Two agreements would facilitate bridge replacements on Wesley Chapel Road in Curran Township and Old Salem Lane in Gardner Township. The third aid agreement would facilitate road improvements on Woodside Road near County Highway 23.
Other resolutions on the agenda involve the purchase of vehicles for the County Sheriff's Department, upgrades to the county's "Jwalk" system and a Gardner Township request for a bridge replacement on Irwin Bridge Road.
