Springfield to consider establishing local minimum wage

The Springfield Committee on the Whole will consider an ordinance that would establish a minimum wage in Springfield at its next meeting 5:30 p.m. today in City Council Chambers.

The committee also will consider an ordinance to amend the city code to reduce the time a vacant building's owner has to bring it up to code before the city can demolish it.

The committee also will consider an ordinance that would make mowing the lawn a public nuisance during certain times of the day.

The committee also will consider approving several agreements with contractors for city services.
