Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) records show that 81.0 percent of Pleasant Plains High School's (PPHS) 2015 graduating class enrolled in college within 12 months of graduation.
The 2015 state average for students in public schools was 70 percent.
For PPHS, its college enrollment rate marks an improvement over 2014, when 71.0 percent of its graduates chose post-secondary education.
The data, collected by the National Student Clearinghouse, includes two- and four-year colleges.
Enrollment at PPHS in 2015 was 441; 110 (24.94 percent) were seniors.
Also, ISBE said 41.0 percent of PPHS seniors were "college ready" in 2015, vs. an average of 46 percent statewide.
All students who score a 21 or higher on the ACT qualify as "college ready."
PPHS students did better on reading (33.3 percent) and English (65.0 percent), and worse on science (29.1) and math (29.9).
Only 14.5 percent of PPHS students were college ready in all four subjects, ISBE said.
