The City of Springfield began construction work this week to remove and replace portions of curbs, gutters, sidewalks and accessible ramps on the following streets: Fourth (Capitol-Madison), Carpenter (16th-19th), Chenery (Henrietta-Pasfield), Henrietta (Lawrence-Vine), Lowell (Lenox-Outer Park) and Pasfield (Lenox-Outer Park).
The work is expected to last a month, weather permitting.
Also starting this week, construction work will begin on the following streets ahead of roadway resurfacing: Fourth (Madison-Carpenter), Fifth (Madison-Carpenter), Albany (Black-Griffiths), Berkley Drive (Arlington-Haverford), Haverford Road (Lombard-Iles), Keokuk, Lehigh Drive, Lombard Avenue, North Grand (15th-Wheeler), Piper Road (Sangamon Avenue-North 550 feet), Shabbona (Shawnee-Piper), Warwick and Winnebago (Arrowhead-east end).
