Springfield-Sangamon board addresses jail maintenance concerns

The Springfield-Sangamon County Workplace Safety Board met April 30 to address jail maintenance concerns.

WORKPLACE SAFETY BOARD MINUTES

August 30, 2016

Members Present: Clyde Bunch, Tim Krell, Raechel Ritzer, Tim Eggleston, Jim Sausaman, Andy Goleman, Jeff VanHoos, Colleen Kelley, Ryan Vaughn.

Members Absent : Pam Deppe was excused.

Others Present: Bill Bloch from IPRF , Charlie Stratton

Chair Bunch called the meeting to order at 1:30 pm

Bunch requested a motion to approve the minutes from June 28, 2016 meeting. A motion made Tim Krell and seconded by Jim Sausaman. Motion carried.

The Committee reviewed cases 16-40 – 16-48. The Committee requested that the Jail Warden or one of his Supervisors attend the next committee meeting to respond to questions from the committee. Discussion centered around maintenance of the jail and supervisor corrective actions in reports.

Old Business : Tim Eggleston reported that 160 spit masks were purchased for the Sheriff’s Department. Bill Bloch reported that he would like to visit different departments to review safety procedures.

There was no public comment.

Motion was made by Tim Krell and seconded by Jeff VanHoos to adjourn the meeting. The meeting was adjourned at 2 pm.
