The Springfield Mass Transit District Board of Trustees met Sept. 9 to approve an operating grant.

The Board of Trustees of the Springfield Mass Transit District met in a special session in the office of the Springfield Mass Transit District located at 928 South Ninth Street, Springfield, Illinois.

In the absence of the Chairman and Vice-Chairman, Wynne Coplea moved to appoint Secretary Leslie McCarthy acting chairperson, seconded by Karen Hasara. The motion passed unanimously.

The Meeting was called to order at 12:05 PM by Leslie McCarthy, acting chair.

I. NEW BUSINESS

A. Approval of FY2017 Downstate Operating Assistance Grant. Frank Squires

explained this grant is the main funding source from the State of Illinois to SMTD and requested approval of the Downstate Operating Assistance Grant. Karen Hasara made a motion to accept the FY2017 Downstate Operating Assistance Grant and authorize its execution, seconded by Wynne Coplea. The motion passed unanimously on a roll call vote.
