The Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce is among the top 1 percent of chambers in the United States, earning a five-star accreditation from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce recently.
The honor marks the second time the Springfield chamber has received the highest possible rating. It comes after a self-review during which staffers proved competency in nine core areas. The chamber garnered special kudos for its employee personnel manual, staff benefits, event success, preparedness planning, and flawless scoring in governance, technology, communications and facilities.
Accreditation is the U.S. Chamber’s standard for acknowledging efficiency and community engagement. Local chambers’ ratings range from simply “accredited” to five-star.
The Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce regularly sponsors educational programming, marketing guidance and job fairs; offers business connections; and strives to increase members’ visibility in the community. Additionally, its mission is to help move the region forward and enhance its profile as a desirable place to live and work.
With its own economic development initiative, the chamber works to attract and retain business through networking and support.
“Through our members’ support of The Chamber and our pro-business advocacy efforts, we have a real impact on the business climate,” the chamber says on its website. “A strong Chamber equals a strong business community and your business prospers as our community prospers.”
