Village of Loami Village Board met June 8.

Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

At 6:00 Mayor Mann called the regular meeting to order.

Treasurer’s Report: Mayor Mann presented the May 2017 treasurer’s report. Trustee Patterson made a motion to accept the report as presented to the board. Trustee Holloway seconded the motion. Vote taken, motion carries. Roll call – Hamilton – Aye, Holloway – Aye, Mann – Aye, McCann – Aye, Patterson – Aye, Nay – 0.

Approval of Minutes: Mayor Mann presented the May 11th, 2017 Regular Board Meeting Minutes to the board for approval. Trustee Patterson made a motion to approve the Regular Meeting minutes as presented to the board. Trustee McCann seconded it. Motion carried.

Approval of Payments: Mayor Mann presented the unpaid bills to the board for approval. Trustee Patterson made a motion to accept the unpaid bills as presented to the board. Trustee Holloway seconded it. Vote taken, motion carries. Roll call – Hamilton, Aye, Holloway – Aye, Mann – Aye, McCann – Aye, Patterson – Aye. Nay – 0.

Visitors: No Visitors

Old Business: Trustee Mann reported that the annual Clean-up Day went very well even though the weather was bad first thing in the morning. Mayor Mann stated that 12 dumpsters were filled, 2 containing metal and 6 no charge due to the Township Vouchers. Trustee Patterson thanked everyone for all their help.

Trustee Mann stated that the annual Meet the Police and Fire Department was on May 31st, 2017 and it was a success. Trustee Patterson suggested that next year the event should be held at Colburn Park because of all the emergency vehicles on site, it would be safer. The board agreed.

Treasurer Lewis reported that the 4th of July Committee has confirmed several venders will be at the event and that the only thing the Committee is lacking is more volunteers. Trustee Mann stated that the Committee has named Ray Long as this year’s Grand Marshal.

New Business: Mayor Mann stated that the Loami Area Food Pantry called asking if we could include them on our Insect Control Account for monthly insect application. The board unanimously said yes.

Trustee Patterson made a motion to accept Ordinance No 2017-03 An Ordinance for the Levy and Assessment of Taxes for the Village of Loami, Illinois, For the Fiscal Year beginning May 1, 2017 and Ending April 30, 2018. Trustee Hamilton seconded the motion. Vote taken, motion carries. Roll call – Hamilton – Aye, Holloway – Aye, Mann – Aye, McCann – Aye, Patterson – Aye. Nay – 0.

Trustee Patterson made a motion to accept Ordinance No 2017-04 An Ordinance Establishing a Prevailing Wage for the Village of Loami, Illinois. Trustee Hamilton seconded the motion. Vote taken, motion carries. Roll call – Hamilton – Aye, Holloway – Aye, Mann – Aye, McCann – Aye, Patterson – Aye. Nay – 0.

Trustee Patterson made a motion to accept Resolution 17-02 A Resolution to Complete Codification with the Illinois Codification Services. Trustee McCann seconded the motion. Vote taken, motion carries. Roll call – Hamilton – Aye, Holloway – Aye, Mann – Aye, McCann – Aye, Patterson – Aye. Nay – 0.

Mayor Mann stated that T&T Construction will not be able to repair the Community Centers Roof due to medical reasons. Mayor Mann stated he has another guy coming out to give us a price to repair it.

Trustee Mann stated that the annual Senior Citizen Dinner will be on Saturday August 19th, 2017 at 6PM. Trustee Mann asked Clerk Glynn to contact Fatbelly Catering to see if they are available this year. Clerk Glynn stated she would.

Mayor Mann stated this year’s Audit was conducted on May 31st and June 1st, 2017 and they are working on the report to present to the board.

Department Reports:

Parks – Trustee McCann stated that Jason Komnick did some work at the Ball Diamonds; new score boards and trenching that he had asked permission for last year. Trustee Holloway asked if any future work is to be done at the Park that it be done in writing. The board agreed.

Streets Department – Trustee Hamilton stated that the bid letting for the chip and seal will be on June 19th, 2017.

Police Department – Trustee Mann stated that everything has been normal and going well at the Police Department. SGT Dillion is currently in charge of Loami PD due to Chief Workman is on vacation. Chief Workman submitted the Police Report to the board and it is on file.

Water/Sewer Department – Trustee Holloway stated that the Water Department is doing good; we do have one generator that is supposed to shut off and it’s not; so that needs to be looked at. Sewer is also doing good.

Permits – Trustee Mann no permits.

Delinquent Bills – Trustee McCann reported two shut-offs and two still off.

Public Safety – Trustee Mann stated that we had one complaint about a lawn that needed mowed and the resident informed her that he will get it mowed by next week.

With no further business at hand, Trustee Patterson made a motion to adjourn the regular meeting. Trustee Holloway seconded the motion. All favored, motion carried.

The next regular board meeting will be at 6PM on Thursday, July 13, 2017.
