Williams Township Board of Trustees met June 13.

Here is the minutes as provided by the board:

The regular meeting of Williams Township Board of Trustees was called to order by Supervisor Miller at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 13th, 2017. The meeting was held at the Township office.

Those present were: Supervisor Lee Miller, Road Commissioner Rich Bond, Clerk Marla Smith Trustees: David May, Alan Justice, John Sweeney, & Jan Halford. Tax Assessor: Mark Thompson. Guest present were Marla Justice & Dale Halford

The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Trustee Sweeney.

Trustee May moved to approve the minutes of the May 9th 2017, board meeting. Second by Trustee Halford. Motion carried.

Trustee Justice moved to approve the monthly bills. Second by Trustee Sweeney. Motion carried.

Trustee Sweeney moved to approve payroll for the month of June. Second by Trustee May. Motion carried.

Supervisor Miller made the announcement that our current Tax Assessor will be resigning. Supervisor Miller & Trustee Halford will be meeting with a potential replacement to discuss entering into a contract with Williams Township to fill the position. Trustee Justice moved to set up an informal meeting with the potential replacement to enter a contract. Second by Trustee Sweeney. Motion carried.

Road Commissioner Bond reported that a recent WHS grad has been hired for summer help. A tentative date of June 22, 2017 has been set for oiling the area of Turkey Run Rd. and Guest Rd. There were several mud covered areas on Logan County Line Rd. after high winds and heavy rains several weeks ago. Several ditches on the south side of the road were filled. Cleanup has delayed work that had been planned & there are still areas that need finished as time allows.

Tax Assessor Thompson state that he has received the e-mail with assessment books. He also indicated that he is willing to help with transition and is certified thru the end of 2018.

Clerk Smith asked about FOIA training email that was received. This needs to be completed by all. Supervisor Miller requested email be sent with the link to the training. Clerk Smith will send the e-mail to everyone.

Trustee May moved to approve Ordinance 2018-01 Williams Township Budget & Appropriations Ordinance. Second by Trustee Halford. Motion carried.

Trustee Justice moved to approve Ordinance 2018-02 Williams Township Road District Budget & ` Appropriations Ordinance. Second by Trustee Sweeney. Motion carried.

Trustee Sweeney moved to approve Ordinance 2018-03 Prevailing Wage Ordinance for Williams Township. Second by Trustee Halford. Motion carried.

Trustee Halford moved to approve Ordinance 2018-04 Prevailing Wage Ordinance for Road District of Williams Township. Second by Trustee May. Motion carried.

The meeting was adjourned following a motion by Trustee May and a second by Trustee Justice.
