Sangamon Sun

East Side Fire Protection District responded to 98 calls in 2016, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System obtained by the Sangamon Sun.

The calls in East Side included 38 fires - 23 structure fires, six vehicle fires and nine other fires.

In all, the department saw $320,450 in fire loss - or about $8,433 per fire.

The department also received 60 false calls, including one malicious call and 59 other false calls.
