Williams Township Board of Trustees met December 12. 

Here is the minutes as provided by the board:

The regular meeting of Williams Township Board of Trustees was called to order by Supervisor Miller at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday December 12th, 2017. The meeting was held at the Township office.

Those present were: Supervisor Lee Miller, Road Commissioner Rich Bond, and Clerk Marla Smith Trustees: David May, Alan Justice, John Sweeney, and Assistant Assessor Jason LeMar Office Manager Debra Booker.

Guest present – Marla Justice

The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Trustee John Sweeney.

Trustee May moved to approve the minutes of the November 14th, 2017, board meeting. Second by Trustee Justice. Motion carried.

Trustee Sweeney moved to approve the monthly bills. Second by Trustee Justice. Motion carried.

Trustee Justice moved to approve payroll for the month of December. Second by Trustee May. Motion carried.

Supervisor Miller advised that he received a letter from Mark Thomspon announcing that he is resigning as Township Assessor as of Dec. 29, 2017. Motion by Trustee Sweeney to accept his resignation. Second by Trustee May. Motion carried. A motion was made by Trustee Justice to accept Jason LeMar’s contract as the Assessor effective January 1, 2018. Second by Trustee May. Motion carried.

Road Commissioner Bond reported the township has clearing brush and getting salt spreaders ready for winter.

Clerk Smith reported that a new Sexual Harassment Policy must be in effect as of January 15, 2018. Our Attorney had emailed a copy to the office for review. Copies were passed out to the Trustees for review. The information will also need incorporated into our handbook.

Assistant Assistant LeMar stated that he is getting some calls from residents. He stated that we can advertise his information so that residents can reach him with questions.

Motion to approve Williams Township Tax Ordinance 2017-05 by Trustee Justice. Second by Trustee May. Motion carried.

Motion to approve Williams Township Road District Tax Ordinance 2017-06 by Trustee Sweeney. Second by Trustee May. Motion carried.

The meeting was adjourned following a motion by Trustee May and a second by Trustee Justice.
