City of Atlanta City Council met Dec. 19.

Open: The regular meeting of the Atlanta City Council was held on Tuesday December 19, 2017 at the Atlanta City Hall. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Fred Finchum at 7:30pm.
Roll Call: Mayor Finchum, Amber Finchum. Billie Cheek, Keith Eimer, Adam McVey, Tommy Young and Andrea Halley were present.
Motion by Cheek second by Eimer to approve the minutes as presented.

Motion by Finchum second by Halley to pay all bills as approved by their chairman.

Mary Hill asked if PD looked at several companies to purchase tasers. Chief Eimer explained that the TASER Company is nationally accredited.
Paul Eckert brought up the subject of Electric Aggregation and reducing the municipal tax. He also asked about getting the Looking for Lincoln plaque repaired.
Mike Evans requesting the problem with the deed to the old Police building be resolved.
Chief Eimer gave a brief report on Police activity for the last month.
Randy Brooks states the Golf course is pretty much closed due to the cold weather, only time will be open is weather is warm enough to play.
Mayor Finchum brought up Well #10 and states the drillers are at the 180ft mark, almost at the goal of 199ft.
The Raw Water line crews are working in tandem and have most of the line in the ground.
Mayor Finchum brought up the Sexual Harassment Prohibition Ordinance. Training materials will be purchased to be sure every employee will be properly trained.
Motion by McVey second by Cheek to adopt the Sexual Harassment Prohibition Ordinance as presented seconded by Cheek.

Motion by Cheek to accept the Policy from IML against Sexual Harassment, second by Young.

Mayor Finchum brought up amending the Sale of alcohol on Sundays to include extending the hours when Sunday falls on New Year’s Eve.
After some discussion the council decided to amend the ordinance.
Motion by Halley second by Finchum to accept the ordinance amending the sale of alcohol on Sundays that fall on New Year’s Eve.

Alderman McVey stated he appreciated all that was accomplished in 2017 and requested the council continue the good work in 2018.
Alderwoman Cheek thanked the Christmas tree committee for putting together a great program.
Alderwoman Finchum also thanked the other members of the committee and the Police Dept. for a great job.
Alderman Eimer stated he is looking forward to a great 2018.
