Village of Rochester Board of Trustees met February 12.

Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

President Joe Suerdieck called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance.

Trustee Munroe called the Roll.

Approvial Of Minutes: No copies of minutes were provided in the packets. Trustee Hill made a motion to the table the approval of minutes. Motion seconded by Trustee Hendrickson. Unanimous aye vote. Motion passed.

Approval Of The Bills:

Trustee Hill made a motion to approve the monthly bills and financial statements. Motion seconded by Trustee Butcher. Roll call.

Announcements:

Trustee Eandi made a motion to appoint Grant Fitzsimmons as a part-time officer for the Rochester Police Department, if all testing requirements are passed. Motion seconded by Trustee Hendrickson. Unanimous aye vote. Motion passed.

Village President Suerdieck administered the Oath of Office.

Phil Brown of Teen Court made a presentation and seeking participation from the Village of Rochester. This item was referred to the Personnel and Finance Committee.

Rochester Lions Club President John Hill and other members of the Lions Clun presented a $1200 donation to the Rochester Police department for the purchase of and AED. This from their BOO Crew proceeds.

Public Fourm: No matters of the Public Forum.

Committee Reports:

Sparks- Trustee Munroe discussed the chicken dinner to be held 2/21, the need for sponsors for Sparks in the Park. She noted that there will also be 2 movies in the Park this summer, dates TBA.

Water/Sewer: Trustee Hendrickson reported that that would be a public forum held 2-26- 18 regarding the EJ water proposal.

No Old Business.

Public Works Superintendents Report: Report attached.

Police Chief Report: Chief Bragg noted that they are applying for an IDOT grant for traffic and seatbelt incentives. Stat sheets were provided to the Trustees.

Village Managers Report: Manager Elderton noted that she is back to work after her leave.

New Business:

Ord 18-03-Amending the Village Subdivision to Remove Regulations of Certain Streets

Trustee Hill made a motion to pass Ordinance 18-03, Amending the Village subdivision to remove regulations of certain streets. Trustee Butcher seconded the motion. Roll Call.

Trustee Eandi made a motion to adopt Ordinance 18-05, the contract between Andrew Cornett and the Village of Rochester. Trustee Butcher seconded the motion. Roll Call.

Trustee Hill made a motion, seconded by Trustee Hendrickson to table Ordinance 18-06, adopting a cannabis policy for the Village of Rochester. Unanimous aye vote. Motion passed.

Res 18-02- Authorizing the Village President to Sign a Letter of Intent From IDOT for Route 29 and West Main Street

Trustee Hill made a motion to adopt Resolution 18-02, authorizing the Village President to sign a letter of intent from IDOT for the Route 29 and West Main Street.
