Village of Rochester Board of Trustees met January 8.

Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

President Suerdieck called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance.

Roll Call: Trustee Butcher

Trustee Eandi

Trustee Hendrickson

Trustee Munroe

Trustee Zobrist

President Suerdieck

Clerk Langdon

Absent: Trustee Hill

Approval Of The Minutes Of The Regualr Meeting On December 11, 2017. Trustee Munroe made a motion to approve the December 11, 2017 minutes. Motion seconded by Trustee Butcher. Unanimous aye vote. Motion passed.

Approval Of The Minutes Of The Special Board Meeting On December 18, 2017. Trustee Hendrickson made a motion to approve the December 18, 2017 minutes. Motion seconded by Trustee Eandi. Unanimous aye vote. Motion passed.

Approval Of Bills:

Trustee Munroe made a motion to approve the monthly financial statements and bills. Motion seconded by Trustee Eandi. Unanimous aye vote. Motion passed.

Public Fourm:

None.

Committee Reports:

Parks-

Trustee Munroe informed Board that Parks Committee met this evening to revisit Mr. Cornett’s contract for the ice deli. Will keep Board posted.

Sparks in the Park-

Trustee Munroe informed Board that the Spark’s committee began their meetings tonight. Committee to begin work on sponsors/vendors. The Committee will also hold a Drive Thru Chicken Dinner Fundraiser on February 21st from 5pm to 6pm at the Rochester Fire Station. Tickets are $10 each and may be purchased at Beginning Steps, Rochester True Value or from Trustee Munroe.

Water and Sewer-

Trustee Hendrickson Met with Mayor Langfelder and CWLP regarding water rates for the Village of Rochester and informed them of our invitation to join co-op. Board members have been invited to tour the CWLP plant to see the $80 million improvements done. The tour will take place on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at 7pm.

Economic Development-

Village President Suerdieck reported there are several properties who qualify for the Residential in-fill lot marketing program. He has been knocking on doors to inform of program availability to those eligible.

Poice Chief Report:

Chief Bragg - Reported the holidays were relatively quiet. He thanked the Rochester Women’s Club for donating an AED to the Department. Planning for the Cops for Kids program has started. The Department would like to coordinate a school training session for new officers.

Village Managers Report:

None.

New Business:

Ordinance 18-01 – Adopting MOU for RPD regarding use of deadly force or officer involved shooting.

Trustee Munroe made a motion to approve Ordinance 18-01. Motion seconded by Trustee Butcher.

Ordinance 18-02 – Amending the liquor code providing for a new gaming liquor for Phillips 66.

Trustee Munroe made a motion to approve ordinance 18-02. Motion seconded by Trustee Zobrist.

Resolution 18-01—Authorizing a MFT construction project for East Main Street in 2018.

Trustee Hendrickson made a motion to approve Resolution 18-01. Motion seconded by Trustee Butcher.

Motion – Authorizing Chief Bragg to hire one (1) part-time police officer. Trustee Zobrist made a motion approving the hiring of one (1) part-time police officer. Motion seconded by Trustee Eandi.
