Report: Porta spent $9,514 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Porta Community Unit School District 202 is up 1 percent from five years ago, according to a Sangamon Sun analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Menard County school district spent $9,396 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $9,514 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 1186 to 1147.

Porta's spending in 2016-17 was 27 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
