Report: Crystal Lake spent $10,945 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Crystal Lake Community Consolidated School District 47 is up 15 percent from five years ago, according to a Sangamon Sun analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Mchenry County school district spent $9,479 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $10,945 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 8092 to 7535.

Crystal Lake's spending in 2016-17 was 16 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
