Graduates earn 3,310 degrees, certificates from Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville

About 21.5 percent of the 3,310 degrees and certificates handed out by the Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville in 2016-17 were to students in Health Professions and Related Programs programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Edwardsville conferred 466 bachelor's degrees and 139 doctor's degrees in Health Professions and Related Programs programs.

But the single most popular program was for a bachelor's degree in Registered Nursing/Registered Nurse. Data shows the school gave out 401 bachelor's degrees in Registered Nursing/Registered Nurse, followed by 272 bachelor's degrees in Business Administration and Management, General and 167 bachelor's degrees in Psychology, General.

The university enrolled 14,142 students for 2016-17, including 11,720 in undergraduate programs and 2,422 in graduate programs.
