Springfield Township Board of Trustees met May 8. 

Here is the minutes as provided by the board:

The Board of Trustees of Springfield Township met May 08, 2018 at the Township Administration Building at 3298 Terminal Ave, Springfield, IL.


Present: Supervisor Gary Budd, Trustees Don Willett, Mike Morris, Arthur Watts, Shannon Lynch, Clerk Robert Remack, Road Commissioner Ron Smith, Assessor Cinda Sausaman, Collector Janine Stroble.

Meeting called to order at 6:00 p.m. by Supervisor Gary Budd.

The Treasurer’s report and minutes of the Board Meeting April 10, 2018 were reviewed. A motion was made by Arthur Watts and seconded by Don Willett to accept the treasurer’s report and approve the minutes. All voted aye. Motion carried.

Bills were submitted to the Town Board for authorization to pay. The Board reviewed the bills. No final vote was taken.

Unfinished Business: $852.85 was collected and deposited in the dumpster fund for the period of April 2nd thru May 4.

Recycling Update-Chairman Gary Budd reported the Township paid $2,079.00 to Ultimate Electronics

Recycling to dispose of the electronics collected and stored on site.

New Business: No new business

Casey Pratt with Sangamon County Highway Dept. discussed a request by Kevin McCloughan to vacate a road west of the fairgrounds and north of Browning Road. He will determine what streets and alleys should be vacated. He explained the process before the board and hopes to have all paperwork done in order to hold the public hearing at the June 13th board meeting.

A motion to adjourn was made by Shannon Lynch and seconded by Don Willett. All voted aye. Motion carried.

Meeting adjourned at 6:30 p.m.
