Rochester Fire Protection District responded to 70 calls in 2017 - 7.7 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Rochester included 45 fires - 17 structure fires, three vehicle fires and 25 other fires.

In all, the department saw $132,000 in fire loss - or about $2,933 per fire.

The department also received 25 false calls, including one malicious call and 24 other false calls.

Two fire service members were injured in fire-related incidents.

The Rochester Fire Protection District had an annual budget of $534,083 in 2017.
