Athens Community Unified School District 213 issued the following announcement on June 21.
1. Tryouts are Monday (July 30) – Wednesday (August 1) from 3:30 – 5:30 PM. If cuts are necessary, players will be notified after practice on Wednesday if they made the team(s). **All players must have a current physical in order to be able to tryout and/or practice.
2. Practice will continue Thursday, August 2 from 3:30-5:30 PM. A parent meeting is tentatively planned for after practice on Thursday, August 2 at 5:30. The meeting will be short (~15-20 minutes)
3. Sign-up for Remind 101 if you have not already done so. This will be a quick and easy way to get updates on tryouts/practice/game changes due to weather or just extra reminders. We may have some “optional” Open Field days in July when guys can come to the field and get some extra swings and fielding in before tryouts. Updates on Open Field will be sent out thru this Remind messaging. To join Jr. High Baseball Remind – text @66cb0 to the number 81010.
4. A tentative Game schedule for the fall is attached to the jr. high website.
