Mayor Mann called the regular meeting to order at 6:00PM

TREASURER’S REPORT: Mayor Mann presented the May 2018 Treasurer’s report to the board for approval. Trustee Holloway made a motion to accept the report as presented to the board. Trustee Patterson seconded the motion. Vote taken, motion carries. Roll call – Hamilton – Aye, Holloway – Aye, Mann – Aye, McCann – Aye, Patterson – Aye. Nay – 0.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Mayor Mann presented the May 10th Appropriation Hearing Minutes to the board for approval. Trustee Patterson made a motion to approve the May 10th Appropriation Hearing Minutes. Trustee Mann seconded it. All favored, motion carried.

Mayor Mann presented the May 10th, 2018 Regular Board Meeting Minutes to the board for approval. Trustee Hamilton made a motion to approve the May 10th Regular Board Meeting Minutes as presented to the board. Trustee Holloway seconded it. All favored, motion carried.

APPROVAL OF PAYMENTS: Mayor Mann presented the unpaid bills to the board for approval. Trustee Holloway made a motion to accept the unpaid bills as presented to the board. Trustee Holloway seconded it. Vote taken, motion carries. Roll call – Hamilton – Aye, Holloway – Aye, Mann – Aye, McCann – Aye, Patterson – Aye. Nay – 0.

VISITORS: Tony Peecher approached the board asking for approval for his sons Eagle Scout group to repair the bridge at Colburn Park. The Boy Scouts will come up with a project plan and present it to the board. Trustee Patterson asked about the cost involved to purchase materials. Mr. Peecher stated “no cost” it’s an Eagle Scout Community Project that the Scouts do all the planning, purchasing and labor. The board gave Mr. Peecher permission to proceed with the Community Service to repair the bridge. Mr. Peecher thanked the board for their time.

Lester Wanless approached the board informing them that he did purchase the house located at 211 S. East Street and he is in the process of having it torn down. The board thanked Mr. Wanless for keeping them updated.

OLD BUSINESS: Mayor Mann presented Ordinance 2018-04 An Ordinance for the Levy and Assessment of Taxes for the Village of Loami, Illinois, for Fiscal Year Beginning May 1st, 2018 and ending April 30th, 2019. Trustee Patterson made a motion to approve Ordinance 2018-04. Trustee Hamilton seconded the motion. Vote taken, motion carries. Roll call – Roll call – Hamilton – Aye, Holloway – Aye, Mann – Aye, McCann – Aye, Patterson – Aye. Nay – 0.

Mayor Mann presented Ordinance 2018-05 An Ordinance Establishing a Prevailing Wage for the Village of Loami, Illinois. Trustee Hamilton made a motion to approve Ordinance 2018-05. Trustee Holloway seconded the motion. Vote taken, motion carries. Roll call – Roll call – Hamilton – Aye, Holloway – Aye, Mann – Aye, McCann – Aye, Patterson – Aye. Nay – 0.

Mayor Mann presented Ordinance 2018-06 An Ordinance Regarding Reservoir Regulations for the Village of Loami, Illinois. Trustee Mann made a motion to approve Ordinance 2018-06. Trustee Patterson seconded the motion. Vote taken, motion carries. Roll call – Roll call – Hamilton – Aye, Holloway – Aye, Mann – Aye, McCann – Aye, Patterson – Aye. Nay – 0.

Mayor Mann asked how this year’s Clean-Up Day went. Trustee Mann stated it went very well. Treasurer Lewis stated that the Fire Department collected around $1,200.00 in donations.

Mayor Mann asked about this year’s 4th of July celebration. Treasurer Lewis stated that they do have a beer trailer coming in, the Fire Department will be selling pork chops and ribeye sandwiches. The event will be on July 7th from 3PM to 10PM.

NEW BUSINESS: Mayor Mann asked the board about this year’s Annual Senior Citizens Dinner. Trustee Mann asked Clerk Glynn to check with Fat Bellies and see if they are available to cater for 50 people this year, the dinner will be on August 18th, 2018 at 5PM.

Mayor Mann stated that the Village Audit was completed on August 21st, 2018. A report by our CPA will be presented to the board in a few months.

DEPARTMENT REPORTS:

PARKS – Trustee McCann stated everything is good at the Park.

STREETS DEPARTMENT – Trustee Hamilton stated he had nothing to report.

POLICE DEPARTMENT – Trustee Mann stated that the Police Department is doing well. Chief Workman submitted the Police Report to the board and it is on file at the Village Hall.

PERMITS – Trustee Mann stated one permit for a fence.

DELINQUENT BILLS – Trustee Mann stated no shut-offs and no turn-back-on due to no Manager at the Trailer Park.

WATER/SEWER DEPARTMENT – Trustee Holloway stated that the water is doing fine. The sewer lagoon is down to 6 motors and our Public Works Supervisor is working on repairing the other motors.

PUBLIC SAFETY – Trustee Mann stated that the house Mr. Wanless reported earlier is coming down so that is good news.

Trustee Patterson made a motion to adjourn the Regular Board meeting and go into Executive Session to approve the minutes from the June 14th, 2018 Executive Session. Trustee Hamilton seconded the motion.

Mayor Mann reopened the Regular Board Meeting.

With no further business at hand, Trustee Hamilton made a motion to adjourn the regular meeting. Trustee Holloway seconded the motion. All favored, motion carried.
