Illinois State Museum issued the following announcement on Aug. 31.
Illinois Harvest Super Saturday
Saturday, September 8, 11:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.

The harvest in Illinois marks the coming of fall. Families can learn about the Illinois harvest through crafts, games, and more. Children will create a bean mosaic, get creative with fruit and vegetable stamping, and learn about historic harvest in Illinois through an interactive game.
Super Saturdays offer thematic activities recommended for children ages 5 and up each month. Activities take 30-40 minutes to complete and are included with Museum admission. Fall Fun Story Time

Storytime is returning to the Illinois State Museum. This program designed for preschool children ages 3-5 and their caregivers, and will feature themed stories, movement activities, songs, and a craft. Story time will take place on the second Tuesday of each month in the Museum’s Family Gallery outside the Play Museum exhibit.
September’s theme is Fall Fun. Fall is a time of colorful leaves, fresh fruits and vegetables, hayrides and more. Families are invited to celebrate the fall season with engaging stories and activities.
