Report: Vandalia spent $10,291 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Vandalia Community Unit School District 203 is up 3.5 percent from five years ago, according to a Sangamon Sun analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Fayette County school district spent $9,941 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $10,291 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 1567 to 1460.

Vandalia's spending in 2017-18 was 22.8 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
