Report: Rochester spent $8,823 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Rochester Community Unit School District 3A is up 4.6 percent from five years ago, according to a Sangamon Sun analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Sangamon County school district spent $8,438 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $8,823 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 2323 to 2253.

Rochester's spending in 2017-18 was 33.8 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
