Report: Illini Central spent $11,829 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Illini Central Community Unit School District 189 is up 71.2 percent from five years ago, according to a Sangamon Sun analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Mason County school district spent $6,909 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $11,829 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 790 to 708.

Illini Central's spending in 2017-18 was 11.3 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
