Report: Canton Union spent $9,384 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Canton Union School District 66 is up 4.8 percent from five years ago, according to a Sangamon Sun analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Fulton County school district spent $8,953 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $9,384 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 2641 to 2497.

Canton Union's spending in 2017-18 was 29.6 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
