The price of local government in 2017: Village of Rochester

The Village of Rochester budget was $5.67 million for its 2017 fiscal year, or $3,379 per household.

That's an increase of 1.6 percent from 2016, when the village spent $5.58 million, or $3,327 per household.

Rochester has 1,677 households and a population of 3,689.

Since 2001, the Village of Rochester budget has grown by 48.9 percent, from $3.81 million. The village population has grown 15.3 percent over the same period, from 3,200.

Salaries accounted for 15.8 percent of village spending in 2017. Rochester property taxpayers paid $893,784 for 14 full-time employees and three part-time employees.
