Village of Loami Village Board met Feb. 14.

Acting Mayor Holloway called the regular meeting to order at 6:00PM

TREASURER’S REPORT: Mayor Mann presented the January 2019 Treasurer’s report to the board for approval. Trustee Patterson made a motion to accept the report as presented to the board. Trustee Branson seconded the motion. Vote taken, motion carries. Roll call – Branson – Aye, Hamilton – Aye, Holloway – Aye, Mann, – Aye, McCann – Aye, Patterson – Aye. Nay – 0.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Mayor Mann presented the January 11th, 2019 Regular Board Meeting Minutes to the board for approval. Trustee Patterson made a motion to approve the January 11th, 2019 Regular Board Meeting Minutes as presented to the board. Trustee McCann seconded it. All favored, motion carried.

APPROVAL OF PAYMENTS: Mayor Mann presented the unpaid bills to the board for approval. Trustee Hamilton made a motion to accept the unpaid bills as presented to the board. Trustee McCann seconded it. Vote taken, motion carries. Roll call – Branson – Aye, Hamilton – Aye, Holloway – Mann – Aye, McCann – Aye, Patterson – Aye. Nay – 0.

VISITORS: No Visitors approached the board.

OLD BUSINESS: Mayor Mann stated he has spoken to the New Berlin transportation office in reference to an email he received about a tree on private property that is blocking some of the road. Mayor Mann stated he informed them that the tree is on private property so please contact the home owner.

Trustee Mann stated that Harry Lee King II has not removed the semi-trailer or inoperable vehicles located at 303 E Elm Street.

Mayor Mann asked Trustee Patterson to contact the Baseball League in reference to this year’s Ball season. Trustee Patterson stated he would.

Trustee Patterson asked if we have decided to put a cover over the ball dugouts. Mayor Mann stated Chief Workman said he might have something at home that would work so we will follow up with him.

NEW BUSINESS: Trustee Hamilton stated that we will need to rebudget for the lawn mower and the shop building this FY 19-20 due to not having time to purchase those items FY 18-19.

Clerk Glynn stated she has scheduled Wyzard Cleaning Services to strip and wax the floor on March 1st, 2019 and that it was budgeted for FY 18-19. Clerk Glynn stated she did have him look at the floors in the Police Department and the Community Center; Police Department floors are fine as is, but the community center tiles need replaced, it would make them worse if he stripped and waxed them due to so many tiles are loose.

Trustee Patterson noted that we need to revisit replacing the Heater, AC, Hot Water Heater and Toilet at the Community Center. The board agreed.

DEPARTMENT REPORTS:

PARKS – Trustee McCann stated nothing to report.

STREETS DEPARTMENT – Trustee Hamilton stated that our Public Works Department got to use the new salt spreader this winter and they report “that it works very well.” Trustee Hamilton stated that the Snow Ploy slid into a resident’s vehicle and our insurance company has paid for the repairs to their property.

POLICE DEPARTMENT – Trustee Mann stated the Loami Police Department has been very busy. Chief Workman submitted the Police Report to the board, and it is on file at the Village Hall.

PERMITS – Trustee Mann stated no permits.

DELINQUENT BILLS – Trustee McCann stated no shut-offs.

WATER/SEWER DEPARTMENT – Trustee Holloway stated the water pumphouse needed a part replaced and is fixed now; sewer needed two new motors one has been replaced and we are waiting on the other one to arrive. Trustee Holloway stated that Public Works Supervisor Bill Roesch has submitted paperwork to apply for an energy efficient grant for the lagoon.

PUBLIC SAFETY – Trustee Mann stated nothing to report.

With no further business at hand, Trustee Patterson made a motion to adjourn the regular meeting. Trustee Holloway seconded it. All favored, motion carries.
