2018 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Menard County?

There were nine offenders released on parole during 2018 that live in Menard County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by Sangamon Sun.

The data shows that eight men and one women were released in Menard County. Of the parolees, one was a veteran, and the median age was 39. The youngest parolee was a 24-year-old man convicted of a crime involving drugs in 2017, and the oldest was a 51-year-old man convicted of a sex crime in 2005.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Lee A. Dodson. He was convicted of homicide in 2000 when he was 25 years old. He is now 45.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
