Q1 2018 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Menard County?

There were three offenders released on parole during the first quarter that live in Menard County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by Sangamon Sun.

The data shows that all of the released offenders in Menard County were men. Of the parolees, one is a veteran, and the median age is 36. The youngest parolee was a 25-year-old man sentenced for a property crime in 2017, and the oldest was a 51-year-old man sentenced for a sex crime in 2005.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Rickey L. Edmonds. He was convicted of a crime involving alcohol in 2017 when he was 30 years old. He is now 33.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the first quarter in each Menard County municipality.
