Q1 2019 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in McLean County?

There were 53 offenders released on parole during the first quarter that live in McLean County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by Sangamon Sun.

The data shows that 49 men and four women were released in McLean County. Of the parolees, one is a veteran, and the median age is 32. The youngest parolee was a 20-year-old man sentenced for a property crime in 2018, and the oldest was a 59-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving alcohol in 2017.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Michael R. Johnson. He was convicted of a property crime in 2007 when he was 26 years old. He is now 38.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the first quarter in each McLean County municipality.
