Q3 2018 Recap: Parolees near Illinois zip code 62702 convicted of crimes against children

There were three offenders convicted of crimes against children released on parole near Illinois zip code 62702 during the third quarter, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the Sangamon Sun.

The data shows that two men and one woman were among the parolees. The median age of the parolees sentenced for crimes against children was 34. The youngest parolee was a 27-year-old man sentenced in 2017, and the oldest was a 43-year-old woman sentenced in 2015.

The offender who was incarcerated the longest was Jennifer Tyree. She was convicted of a crime against one or more children in 2015 when she was 39 years old. She is now 43.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
