City of Auburn City Council met May 6.

Here is the minutes as provided by the council:

Mayor Berola called the meeting to order at 8:27 p.m.

Present: Tom Berola, Julie Barnhill, Chris Warwick, Jason Garrett, Larry Hemmerle, Rod Johnson, Bill Karhliker, Joe Powell, Ben Royer and Tracy Sheppard.

Absent: None

Junior Alderman Present: Carter Evans

Department Heads: Chief Dave Campbell, Superintendent Mike McCarthy, Attorney Rusty Reed and

City Office Manager Kristy Ponsler

     I. Mayor’s Comments

          Mayor Berola asked Circuit Judge in the Seventh Judicial Circuit Raylene DeWitte Grischow to swear in the newly elected Alderman. Joe Powell, Ward I; Ben Royer, Ward II; Larry Hemmerle, Ward III and Bill Karhliker, Ward IV took the Alderman Oath.

           Appointment to Committees

          The meeting was scheduled because after the elections are over and new alderman taking office, the Council had to take a look at the various committees that are served. Below is a listing of committees and assignments:

               Administration- Chairperson Rod Johnson

                Health & Safety - Chairperson Tracy Sheppard

                  A motion was made by Johnson to approve the committees; second by Powell. VOICE Vote Aye: Lori, Basiewicz, Jason Garrett, Larry Hemmerle, Rod Johnson, Bill Karhliker, Joe Powell, Ben Royer and Tracy Sheppard. NAY: None. PRESENT: None. ABSENT: None (8-0-0-0)

             No additional items were addressed at this meeting.

IX. Adjournment

                 Motion to adjournment at 8:33 p.m. was made by Garrett and second by Sheppard. VOICE Vote Aye: Lori Basiewicz, Jason Garrett, Larry Hemmerle, Rod Johnson, Bill Karhliker, Joe Powell, Ben Royer and Tracy Sheppard. NAY: None. PRESENT: None. ABSENT: (8-0-0-0)
