Canton Union School District 66 Board met Feb. 17.

The Special Meeting of the Buildings and Grounds Committee for Canton Union School District #66 was held Monday, February 17, 2020, beginning at 5:00 PM in the Boardroom Administration Building, 20 West Walnut Street Canton, Illinois.

1. CALL TO ORDER

Committee member Matt Kees called the special meeting to order at 5 PM in the Boardroom at the Administration Building, 20 West Walnut Street, Canton.

2. ROLL CALL

Committee members present and answering roll call were Matt Kees, Rolf Sivertsen, Tad DeRenzy, Rod Harris and William Phillips.

3. AUDIENCE REQUESTS TO ADDRESS THE BUILDINGS AND GROUNDS COMMITTEE 

There were no audience requests to address the Buildings and Grounds Committee.

4. DISCUSSION ITEMS

A. Review Possible Projects

Committee members discussed building security and the possibility of door position indicators to enhance security. Committee members reviewed the modified life safety estimates which included the floor coverings at Eastview Elementary School and Westview Elementary School. Also reviewed were the proposed outstanding life safety amendment costs.

B. Update on Estimate for Large Addition to Eastview Elementary School

Committee members reviewed information regarding a proposed addition to Eastview Elementary School.

C. Discuss Feasibility of Change at Westview to Special Education and District Administration

Committee members discussed the feasibility of change at Westview Elementary School to add the Special Education and District Administration offices to the Westview Elementary School building.

D. Prioritize Possible Projects for Recommendation to the Board

Committee members discussed a recommendation to the board for the prioritization of possible projects.

5. ADJOURN

Committee member Matt Kees moved to adjourn the meeting. Rolf Sivertsen seconded. Voting yes by roll call were Matt Kees, Rolf Sivertsen, Tad DeRenzy, Rod Harris and William Phillips. Motion carried.

Committee member Matt Kees declared the special meeting adjourned at 6:16 PM.
